E-Clinic Reports successful new registrations and successful online bookings to Google Analytics using custom events coded into the system. Your web agency will have to add the Tag Manager Container ID to your Reports settings under Settings > Connect > GTM Container ID. This will appear in the heading below once you have created your account. To create an account go to Google Tag Manager.
Now that your account is created, it is time for you to create some tags. To create a new tag go to "Tags" and "New".
New Tags
Here we will want to make a new tag and name it as well as configure it. The image below shows me setting this to a Google Tag and here in Tag ID, you want to set this as your Measurement ID which is linked to Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Adding Event parameters to show what the outcome should be can be added as seen below:
Tag Configuration
You are also able to change the event parameters depending on what you wish to view. These are shown in the image below if you wish to view who has clicked the URL via or link or who has accessed it in general.
Parameter List
Once you have configured your Tag, you can then update your triggers and what these triggers should contain. Here are some examples of what tags you could create on your GTM.
Purchase (for successful online bookings)
This trigger shows when someone enters the booking area URL, so for example https://{your-clinic-name}.connect.e-clinic.co.uk/book. This will update it to show on your analytics.
User Register (for new online registrations)
When a new user registers on your E-Clinic. This will be the URL to your login/register page, so for example https://{your-clinic-name}.connect.e-clinic.co.uk/login. This will show new users who will have signed up and overall users who have an existing Connect account
After this, they'll want to create tags with these triggers as reference points for conversions. We recommend making the following tags:
Advertisements:
You can then use the Google Ads Conversion tag for tracking conversions if you are running ads like this:
